College Grove Shopping Center - Majorette
Back in the 1940's, A San Diego State University Drum majorette standing 46 feet high and outlined in neon twirled her baton at the Campus Drive-In. Over the years she has become not only a local landmark, but a national celebrity having appeared in neon books and calendars, along with spectaculars from Times Square to Las Vegas. When the drive-in was closed to make way for a new shopping center, the removal of the neon was written up in both Time and Life magazines. The neon was racked and saved for her new home at the College Grove Shopping Center.

Integrated Sign Associates was chosen to not only restore the original neon, but to construct a cabinet in the shape of the drum majorette with it's original hand painted detail and the large freestanding support structure. The unveiling of the Majorette was a major media event drawing coverage from all the local TV stations and was on the front page of the San Diego Union Tribune.
